The Victoria Unit of the Adult Probation Department provides a number of services to the community, including the Victim Restitution Program and the Community Service Restitution Program.

The Victim Restitution Program is a service provided when the court orders a defendant to pay restitution to the victim for the loss they have suffered. The defendant pays this amount through the Adult Probation Department, as a condition of probation. During the month of August, $19,971.39 was collected as restitution by the department and dispensed to 77 victims, according to a news release from the probation department.

The Community Service Restitution Program is a service where defendants are ordered by the court to perform work for a non-profit group, church, school or a part of government. This program provides an actual dollar saving to the community, as the work performed is work that is needed. During the month of August, the Community Service Restitution Program provided 6,145.50 hours of volunteer service worth $31,649.33 to the community.
