What evidence is there that restorative justice works in prisons?

We have heard the anecdotal evidence that restorative justice can make significant changes in the environments of closed institutions. Further, we have heard many reports that restorative encounters with victims can change the attitudes of prisoners and of victims.

But is there research to back up these claims? If you know of studies that have been done, or are being done, let us know about them. Help us track them down and we will post them here.
