The Community Building SphereThe programmes, services and institutions that assist victims and offenders, serve communities affected by crime, and strengthen the capacity of citizens to build harmonious communities are referred to as the Community Building Sphere. OverviewThe purpose of the Community Building Sphere is to help create strong communities and to help victims, offenders and their communities of care to re-enter as whole, participating members. Victim Support and AssistanceThe needs of victims are of highest importance from the moment the crime occurs. Support and assistance are offered because the victim seeks them, regardless of whether the offender has been apprehended or convicted. Offender Support and AssistanceFrom the time a person is accused of a crime and continuing to completion of the resolution process, that person is entitled to support and assistance. Community Support and AssistanceCitizens are supported and assisted as they seek to build harmonious communities. Network Members Support and AssistanceThose who work closely with crime because of their career, volunteer work, or for other reasons may find themselves in need of support and assistance. |
